Residents of Kyakatebe LC1 in Nyaisamba Parish, Kiryanga Sub-County, Kagadi District, are living in despair following a severe hailstorm on Sunday evening that destroyed homes and gardens.

The storm demolished at least eight residential houses, leaving many families homeless and exposed to cold conditions.

The destruction of gardens has also raised concerns about imminent food insecurity in the area, with residents appealing for relief support from the government and well-wishers.

Vincent Semuga, the Kagadi District Vice Chairman, confirmed the incident, saying that local leaders plan to visit affected families and compile a report on the damage.
